Arsenal’s Samir Nasri is to be offered a new contract worth £95,000 per week in a move which should seal the Frenchman’s signature.
It has been an interesting 12 months for the Arsenal playmaker, making a big impact at the start of the season for the Gunners but then having a dip in form towards the end of the campaign with contract talks continuing to stall.
With just a year left on his contract and no movement many believe Nasri to be wanting a move elsewhere however Wenger will not allow him to leave for free and it has emerged that the Arsenal board would prefer to make money on him now than risk losing him for nothing.
Should this new contract – believed to be a five year deal – be accepted by Nasri then interest from other teams such as AC Milan and even Manchester United in some newspapers will diminish, however Nasri is sure to want assurances that more quality shall be brought into the Emirates to tempt him to stay and an increase in salary may not be enough to make him believe that Arsenal are still serious contenders for silverware.
