Arsenal still holding out hope for Frenchman

Arsenal are still confident of signing Marseille's RemySources have suggested that Arsenal still hold hope of signing France international Loic Remy despite Tottenham Hotspur ready to offer to Marseille Roman Pavlyuchenko in part exchange.

The striker has been under the watchful eyes of both clubs over the last 12 months however Arsenal’s North London rivals look to have made the first aggressive move with Redknapp’s side prepared to try and complete the deal in January. Wenger has claimed that no business will be done during January but rumours of a bid close to £20m are appearing across the internet.

Remy may however prefer to move to the red side of London rather than fancy a move to White Hart Lane despite Spurs currently positioned above them. Should the 24 year old striker not be allowed to move during the winter opening then Arsenal would appear to be favourites to land the hitman in the summer.

Up to this point though Arsenal are interested in the striker but are currently not considering a move in January and will reassess the situation at the end of the season.
