Arsenal still on the trail of international playmaker
Arsenal are still ready to move for France interntaional Yoann Gourcuff and have not ruled out a potential offer next summer.
The 25 year old has always been a player of interest to the Gunners but offers and possible moves have always failed to materialise in one way or the other. It believed that Gourcuff remains on the wanted list and should Lyon be prepared to sell the attack minded midfielder then a serious offer would be forthcoming.
Gourcuff first joined Lyon in 2010 from Bordeaux but has featured for the international side since 2008. His ability on the ball is something that would help Arsenal on a long term basis but with their squad cuurently larger than usual a January move is out of the question.
With Arsenal currently making their main aim in January to find a striker and a left-back, any move for Gourcuff will be put on ice until the summer transfer window reopens. Arsenal fans are likely to get a good chance to see the Frenchman in action when England arrive in the Ukraine for the Euro 2012 competition, France being one of England’s opponents in the group stage.
