Reports across the internet have suggested that Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh will be making his return to France next month with Arsene Wenger lining up Wigan Athletic striker Hugo Rodallega.
Chamakh has failed to shine after what looked to be a few promising early months when first joining in 2010. Although many claim the 27 year old should be given more time it appears that he is looking for more game time and will not refuse a move elsewhere to get those minutes.
Whether Wenger decides to allow Chamakh to depart is a big question, given that Arsenal currently lack strikers. With the club actively seeking a new striker to support Robin van Persie up front, the idea that Rodellega is that man to help Arsenal move forward is questionable with his own record not the best, even if only for relegation prospects Wigan.
Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez would probably not be happy to lose one of his forwards, especially given their current position in the Premier League. Whilst this move looks to be a non-starter Arsenal will certainly continue to look for someone of top quality than swap a player who is not playing well with another.
