Arsene Wenger has been dealt another blow to his squad, after Jack Wilshere confirmed that he would be out for at least another two or three months.
The 19 year-old was originally hoping to be back in training next week with a view to making a return mid-September.
However, that estimation has now been dashed, as the earliest the Gunners star is now expected back will be November.
The midfielder took to social networking site, Twitter, to alert the public, posting: “I can confirm I will be out for around 2-3 months! I am working hard in the gym to stay fit and I am gutted but I will be back stronger!”
This news also rules Wilshere out of any international games, including England’s Euro 2012 qualifiers against Wales and Montenegro.
