Arsenal are ready to put an end to the most long and most tedious of transfer sagas by accepting a mammoth bid of £37m for their captain Cesc Fabregas.
Arsenal had given Barcelona a deadline stating they would need to front up most of the cash or include a player by the 10th August however the Spanish giants did not wish to part with Arsenal’s chosen player Alcantara and were also not prepared to pay more than £34m. However, with the deadline now set Barcelona have agreed to pay £37m for the 24 year old upfront, plus £3m in instalments over the remainder of the season.
With the North London side ready to accept, not only will it put an end to this almost incredible story but it will also provide Wenger with an almighty cash boost with which he will be able to bring new faces, Juan Mata just one being linked from Valencia.
There is also the possibility that Wenger, with these extra funds, that he will pay the required fee by Everton for Phil Jagielka although he will need to move soon and will want negotiations in place prior to the Fabregas cash arriving.
