Arsenal to up attacking ante with £15m bid for Roma striker

Vučinić will add much needed experience to Arsenal's squadArsenal are planning to add some firepower to their attack in light of the constant injuries that persist with current forward Robin van Persie by bidding for Roma striker Mirko Vučinić next summer.

It has been known that Wenger was keen on the forward in the past but at the time the player decided to stay on at Roma. 2009 was also the period that Arsenal were looking to replace Emmannuel Adebayor but again Wenger opted for youth instead of a proven goal scorer.

With figures somewhat unclear it is thought that Roma would currently seek around £15m for the man that has scored 56 goals in 130 plus appearances for the Italian giants but again the decision will rest with Wenger and whether the 27 year old would fit in with his “buy young and inexperienced” policy. With Vučinić having played for Lecce, Roma and for his national side Montenegro it seems he may have too much experience for Wenger to consider.

It is no secret that Arsenal need experience within their ranks and Vučinić, who adds height as well as the ability to score once every two games should really be a player that must be considered if he indeed fancies a different challenge.

If rumours are true that Arsenal will accept a £45m bid from Barcelona for Cesc Fabregas in the summer then the manager will certainly have the cash available to boost his current underachieving squad.
