Arsenal are tracking two Chinese internationals with the possibility of bringing at least one into the Arsenal squad for the 2011/2012 season.
Defensive midfielder Huang Bowen, now 23, who currently plays for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and has 12 caps for the international side, and Hao Junmin, a winger who is currently plying his trade with Bundesliga and Champions League quarter finalists Schalke 04.
The reports come ahead of the proposed tour of China where it is possible that Bowen will play against the Gunners. The scouting of these young talents also coincides with Arsenal’s new directive of targeting new markets to showcase their talents and increase shirt sales revenue.
Hao Junmin has not really hit the headlines since 2010 but remains an interesting player who can player either on the right hand side or in the centre of midfield. The big question again remains. If Arsenal are seriously considering the purchase of each of these players, should experience not come first?
Young talent is always good to have but a team such as Arsenal who are pushing for medals should in reality be looking at the more experienced Yang Hao if they really wish to bring in talent from the Chinese market.
