Sources from Southern Germany have claimed that Arsenal will make an offer for Borussia Dortmund starlet Mario Gotze but that the offer will only be forthcoming in the summer and not during January.
Speculation has been rife that Arsenal are interested in the 19 year old and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger himself has admitted to finding Gotze a quality player. Although Gotze is happy to remain in the Bundesliga for the time being Dortmund would consider a very big offer for him next summer with the Emirates side and Real Madrid known to be the most interested.
As things stand the player is valued around £20m although performances during the European Championships could see that value go either up or down and it is after that tournament that Arsenal are likely to make their offer. Dortmund are likely to accept bids exceeding the £20m mark and Gotze will be torn between the Emirates and Real Madrid who currently have two of his international team mates on their books.
Both Khedira and Ozil play in the Spanish capital and it’s likely that their input could have a big impact on the youngsters decision but Arsenal’s recent Champions League clashes with the Bundesliga Champions will have shown Gotze what Arsenal are about and what they are looking to achieve and rumours also suggest that Gotze does favour North London than elsewhere.
How much Arsenal will offer Dortmund will of course be kept private as all dealings are with the North London club however with January being a point where nothing will happen, the summer looks to be a key moment in the future of Gotze and Arsenal.
