Arsenal are set to lose another player later on this year after Emmanuel Frimpong decided to snub England and play for the Ghanaian national side.
This news of course means that the midfielder will be away on international duty when the African Cup of Nations starts in the New Year.
New signing, Gervinho, will be playing with the Ivory Coast, and midfield linchpin, Alex Song, will be playing for Cameroon.
Ghanaian FA President, Kwesi Nyantaki claims he met with Frimpong after the nation’s defeat to Brazil last night, saying: “We had a meeting last night and he told me he wants to play for Ghana. We will send off all the necessary paperwork to FIFA now and we hope to have everything concluded within two or three months.”
He added: “I am very happy for this because he is a good player.”
