Arsenal will need to win an auction amongst Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid to win the race to sign the Bundesliga’s up and coming youngster Mario Gotze.
The Germany international has already stated his desire to remain with current club Borussia Dortmund for the next two seasons at least but interest levels in the 19 year old remain high and bids will be expected by the German Champions in the summer.
Although reports have suggested that bids could be made during the January transfer window, sources suggest this will be unlikely and any serious offers or enquiries will only be made in June. The 19 year old has burst onto the scene over the last twelve months with some even claiming that the Gotze is the German Messi.
Arsenal do remain keen on him and there were reports at the end of the transfer window that the Emirates side had made a late offer for the exciting youngster, only to be refused. With Gotze being pivotal to Dortmund’s current Champions League and Bundesliga campaign they are very unlikely to allow any discussions for the player to go ahead unless an incredible amount of money is put on the table.
Whilst Arsenal’s finances are amongst the best in the world where football is concerned they may find it hard to compete with the likes of Real Madrid also interested in the youngster plus the fact that two of his current international team mates are also in Jose Mourinho’s squad.
