Arsenal’s £15m Bid Gabriel Paulista Confirmed, Accepted Too

The Gunners gaffer confirmed in his press conference that the club is in talks with Villarreal to sign Gabriel Paulista. He latter confirmed a bid, while mentioning the player’s release clause.

The Frenchman by his own standard when it comes to transfers at least was unusually opened on Thursday. He was not his usual cryptic self. And he told the press how far both clubs were, in their negotiations.

“Talks are progressing quite well. It is £15million. We ready to pay the right price for a good player.” said Wenger.

gabriel_paulista-ecvitoria-ecvnewsvitoriaWenger is seldom opened about any transfer. But the fact that he is open about this particular transfer only means that a deal could be close.  This further gives credence to the reports claiming the £15m bid has been accepted.

Gabriel Paulista played 90 minutes in a Copa Del Rey match for Villarreal on Wednesday night, as the El Madrigal side ran out 1-0 winners over Getafe in the first leg of the quarter finals.

The French manager delights in having a left sided central defender, according to him, they bring a balance to the central defence. Since 24 year old Gabriel Paulista is just one of those, the manager would have identified the replacement for Thomas Vermaelen.

Paulista has some similarities with Laurent Koscielny, as he is blessed with the kind of pace the French international has. Since, Arsene Wenger is confident about a deal, it only means that the club is confident of scaling the hurdle of securing work permit that could prevent the deal from taking place.
