Both Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers lead the chase for Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips in a move that could cost either club close to £5m.
Wright-Phillips is still keen to remain at City and fight for his place however Mancini will look to cash in on the England international should there be enough interest in him. Bolton manager Owen Coyle has been interested in acquiring the winger since he took over at the Reebok and Bolton would certainly be considered favourites.
Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish though realises that there are still a one or two players to bring in after the departures of Ashley Young and Stewart Downing and see’s Wright-Phillips as an ideal low cost replacement. Although both clubs have already made initial enquiries the next club for Wright-Phillips neither club are 100% certain that he will join them but are assured that they shall receive a respone early this week.
