Aston Villa boss believes new signing will flourish at the club

Alex McCleish has revealed exactly how pleased he is with the energy and ability that Jermaine Jenas is showing in training.

Jenas completed a deadline day loan move to Villa Park after falling out of favour at White Hart Lane, ad looking elsewhere for more first team chances.

The Scot commented on his newest acquisition, saying: “Jermaine’s career has stagnated over the last year or so. But speaking to some of his Tottenham team-mates I met on holiday and about, they can’t believe why he is still not playing for England.”

The Villan boss has seen the potential of the 28 year-old, and is confident he can unlock that form, adding: “The evidence is there of good players who you have seen what they have done it in the past, it means they have it in their locker.”
