Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor is on the verge of sealing a new long term deal with the club with sources claiming it could take the player beyond 2016.
The 25 year old has been a revelation for Aston Villa this season and in a campaign that the side had to manager with a new manager plus the losses of Ashley Young and Stewart Downing, the young Englishmen has taken it upon himself to inject something extra into his game play.
The effects look to have worked with Agbonlahor apparently nearing a new deal offered by the club as McLeish looks to tie down some of his stars for the longer term future.
Agbonlahor first joined Aston Villa in 2005 having come through the academy and spent his first year for the club on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Watford. There has been interest in the player though, especially after making such an impact this season and Aston Villa would be smart to get the deal tied down as soon as possible.
