Aston Villa will be looking for their first home win since November when they take on in-form Fulham at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon, as Ladbrokes’s price of 2/1 for the away win attracts plenty of attention from punters.
The form of Alex McLeish’s men on home soil has been simply horrific and there is no doubt that it is frustrating for fans of the club. There have actually only been three home wins for Villa all season with the most recent coming on 5th November 2011 against Norwich.
This is partly why they find themselves down in 15th position in the Premier League. Overall, it has been a thoroughly miserable season for Aston Villa. They need to make sure it doesn’t get any worse too.

Going into this weekend, they are eight points clear of the bottom three, but this is a gap that could easily be reduced if they have a few more disappointing results. Quite simply, the sooner they get their fourth home win of the season, the better.
As for Fulham, they have no such worries about their form after winning three games in succession. The most recent victory was a 5-0 hammering of Wolves too, so Martin Jol’s men are firing on all cylinders at the moment.
This means they have climbed to 8th in the table and they would love to stay here – or in the top ten at the very least – for the rest of the season.
The Cottagers are particularly impressive going forward at the moment with new striker Pavel Pogrebnyak scoring five goals in his first three games for the club. He has joined the likes of Clint Dempsey, Andy Johnson and Damien Duff in making Fulham are real force for defenders to contend with.
These two played out a 0-0 draw earlier this season, but neither team will settle for this on Saturday. Villa need to secure three points, while a confident Fulham side will look to attack whenever possible.
Looking at the team news for this one, Villa have no fresh injury concerns, while Fulham could welcome back Bryan Ruiz after he has recovered from illness. Stephen Kelly misses out though.
