Aston Villa host Tottenham at Villa Park on Sunday in what is a massive game for both sides, as Ladbrokes report punters are piling into Spurs’s price of 10/11 for victory.
Villa’s recent poor form has seen them dragged into the relegation battle this season and they are currently just three points clear of the drop zone. Without a win in eight, it is difficult to see where the points are coming from.
Alex McLeish will know that one more win should be enough to confirm their status as a Premier League club, however with Spurs at home and then a difficult trip to Norwich on the final day it will be far from straight forward.

McLeish’s men have scored just three goals in their previous six encounters, something largely down the injury of leading scorer and goal poacher Darren Bent. The England forward has been sidelined since February and certainly has been missed at Villa Park.
The Villains have never been out of the Premier League since it began 20 years ago, so relegation this season would be one of the worst in the clubs history.

As for Tottenham, they look back to some of the form that had seen them as genuine title contenders earlier in the campaign.
With wins over Bolton and Blackburn, they have regained their spot in the top four and are now just one point behind third placed Arsenal.
Strike partners Rafael Van der Vaart and Emmanuel Adebayor have found the net seven times between them in the last six matches and if they continue in this kind of form over the weekend it could be a tough task for Aston Villa to keep them quiet.
Harry Redknapp now knows that he will not be given the England managers job after Roy Hodgson was appointed during the week. Therefore, he will now be looking to build a side at Tottenham that is capable of winning a Premier League title.
With both sides needing the points for very different reasons it is sure to be an entertaining game on Sunday. It all gets underway from 2pm.
