Reports have suggested that Aston Villa are looking at the possibility of signing Manchester United midfielder, Darron Gibson, in a deal worth £3.5m.
The Republic of Ireland was being associated with a move to Sunderland last month along with Wes Brown and John O’Shea, however chose not to join his former teammates in the move due to personal terms.
The 23 year-old had his biggest chance at breaking into the Red Devils’ midfield last season with aging midfielders Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes spending more time on the bench.
However, Gibson failed to capitalise on the chance, and with the emergence of Tom Cleverley as a new sensation, his future at Old Trafford looks a little bleaker, and may seek first team elsewhere.
