Aston Villa caretaker manager Gary McAllister has insisted that the club will do everything in their power to keep hold of winger Ashley Young but confirms that without the offer of Champions League football it may be difficult.
Ashley Young has been linked with moves to numerous Premiership clubs with Manchester United and Liverpool heavily linked as well as Real Madrid who are rumoured to be wanting to tempt the youngster with a summer transfer bid.
However McAllister is admant that nothing is yet for certain.
“I don’t think it’s inevitable Ashley will go. We will do everything we can to keep him here.”
The former Liverpool midfielder added.
“All players have ambition to play in the Champions League. We can’t give them that. It’s a goal but we all know how difficult it is to get up there.”
