Its Andy Murray v Novak Djokovic live streaming from the US Open Tennis quarter finals, as a semi final place beckons for the winner at Flushing Meadows.

Andy Murray faces the daunting prospect of the number one seed Novak Djokovic in tomorrow’s US Open quarter-final clash.

Djokovic is the favourite to win the Flushing Meadows crown and has been in imperious form so far in the tournament.

Murray recorded his first win over a top 10 ranked player this year in the fourth round, overcoming Jo Wilfred-Tsonga in straight sets.

]Tsonga pushed Murray all the way in each set, however the 2012 US Open champion prevailed 7-5, 7-5, 6-4.

After the match Murray admitted he reached a level he hasn’t done frequently enough this year and is close to his very best.

That is the level required to overcome Djokovic and unsurprisingly the Serbian is the overwhelming favourite to progress.

Djokovic himself eased past Philipp Kohlschreiber in the fourth round, winning 6-1, 7-5, 6-4 against the German.

The 2011 US Open champion is yet to drop a set at this year’s event, conceding an average of just seven games per match!

Murray famously beat Djokovic in the 2012 US Open final, despite dropping a two set lead.

At that stage in his career Murray hadn’t lifted a major title and question marks where being asked about his character.

Eventually he pulled through in the fifth and deciding set, much to the adulation of his British fans.

Djokovic holds a 12-8 head to head record advantage over Murray and won the only meeting between the two in 2014.

On the same day the third seed Stan Wawrinka takes on the Japanese number one in Kei Nishikori.

Nishikori outlasted Milos Raonic in an amazing five set match in the previous round, which lasted four hours and 19 minutes, the longest match at the tournament to date.

Things were slightly easier for Wawrinka who beat Tommy Robredo in four sets 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7), 6-2.

The 2012 winner has been given a tough draw, with the winner likely to face the number one seed Novak Djokovic in the last eight.

In the third round Murray again went to four sets, as he beat the Russian Andrey Kuznetsov, following an awful third set from the Scot.

The remainder of the match was convincing from Murray, dropping just eight games in the other three sets.

Murray won’t be allowed a dip in performance against Tsonga who himself overcame Pablo Carreno Busta 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

The pair have met 11 times prior to tonight’s match, with Murray holding a 9-2 head to head advantage over the Frenchman.

Tsonga did get the better of the most recent meeting at the Canadian Masters and has beaten Murray in a grand slam.

Elsewhere Djokovic faces Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany looking to win back to back grand slam majors.

Djokovic looked in ominous form against the American Sam Querrey, dropping just seven games in a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 win.

Kohlschreiber himself overcame the 13th seed John Isner, winning three tie breaks to progress into the fourth round.

Stan Wawrinka was given a walkover into the fourth round after his opponent Blaz Kavcic pulled out with an injured foot.

On his way to the Australia Open back in January, Wawrinka was given a walkover in the third round too!

This evening he faces Tommy Robredo, who ended the talented Nick Kyrgios’s run in the previous round.

Elsewhere in the women’s draw, top seed Serena Williams takes on Kaia Kanepi of Estonia, whilst Flavia Pennetta opens on the Arthur Ash court against Casey Dellacqua.

Djokovic dropped just four games in his easy win over Paul-Henri Mathieu as he looks to win his second US Open.
