Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has told Barcelona to end the Cesc Fabregas saga by making a £40m offer for the 24 year-old by August 5 – or any chance of a deal is off.
The midfielder is expected to miss out on Arsenal’s Emirates’ Cup this weekend, missing much of this year’s per-season with a hamstring injury, Wenger is taking no risks on his current skipper.
Fabregas has been a target of the Catalan giants for a great deal of time now, and Arsenal could be preparing for life without the midfielder, with the club rumoured to be in talks with Valencia winger, Juan Mata.
Mata was said to be in North London during the week after Arsenal apparently had a £19m bid accepted for the 23 year-old. However, Valencia president, Manuel Llorente denies any offers have even been received and that the club wouldn’t sell if there were.
Spain international, Fabregas, has made no secret of his desire to rejoin Barcelona, and may resort to a transfer request if Barca don’t quicken their steps in submitting an offer.
