Barca are eleven points clear at the top of the table, so as long as they avoid any major hiccups, you would say that the title is all but won already.
One thing you can be sure about is that the Catalan giants will not be taking anything for granted as they know what a demanding league this is. Tito Vilanova’s men lost their first game of the campaign in La Liga earlier in the month, but followed that up with a 5-1 win over Osasuna last time out, so it looks as though that was just a little blip.
Lionel Messi grabbed himself four goals last weekend and there doesn’t seem to be much stopping Barca’s number ten right now.
Vilanova knows that this is going to be a tough game as Valencia are capable of beating anyone in this league, especially on their home ground.
The hosts are just two points off fourth place at the moment, so know what a win could do for their Champions League hopes. It is going to be a difficult 90 minutes of Valencia, but after seeing Barcelona lose to Real Sociedad, they will be aware that Barcelona are not invincible.
Whichever way you look at it, this is sure to be a superb encounter.
The four other games all look like entertaining ones as well and Atletico Madrid might need a win to ensure they keep a four-point gap between themselves and Real Madrid when they host Real Betis.
Betis are in fifth place at the moment, but haven’t won their last two La Liga matches. They have been no strangers to causing the big teams some problems this season though, so it should be a cracker.
Real Zaragoza haven’t won in four and could be dragged into the relegation battle if they don’t take something at Malaga, who are in fourth place after a superb win at Mallorca last time out.
Rayo Vallecano have won four of their last five and look as though they could be genuine contenders for the top four this campaign.
They make the tough trip to Sevilla this weekend knowing that a win might see them move into a Champions League spot.
Finally, Real Sociedad and Mallorca lock horns and the latter are desperate for the points as they sit in the bottom three at the moment.
They are on a poor run right now as they have not won in four and by the time this one kicks-off, Mallorca could be at the bottom of the table.
Sociedad sit comfortably in mid-table, so should claim the points here, it just depends what sort of performance they put in as they have been inconsistent this campaign.
It should be another superb day in La Liga.
