As talks continue between Chelsea and Barcelona regarding the sale of 20 year old youngster Thiago Alcântara, the Spanish giants have suggested they may be in a position to allow 29 year old David Villa move to London for the right price although the West London club would need to find around £40m.
Barcelona currently require the cash to purchase three football stars in Alexis Sanchez, Guiseppe Rossi and Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas however to do so will need the Nou Camp side selling some of their older talents. The Alcântara deal was said to be around the £15m mark but with Villa added into the mix, a small discount is sure to be made available.
Barcelona admitted to having around £50m for the summer transfer window to invest in new players and have already claimed that they will not be bidding any higher than last year for Fabregas. The side also feel very confident they can land Sanchez ahead of Manchester United but should that deal go through, thought to be around £36m then they will need to raise funds for Fabregas and Rossi.
The likes of Villa and Torres together up front for Chelsea has given the club something to think about and with it now looking likely that Real Madrid will snap up Neymar, owner Abramovich will be able to use the funds spared for the Brazilian starlet on bringing both Barcelona players to the Premiership club.
Should Sanchez decide on a move to Old Trafford then things could change with Barcelona only investing heavy in Rossi this summer and leaving Fabregas for a further year.
