Having won all but one of their games, Bayern are sitting joint top of the Bundesliga just one point ahead of their next opponents.
Pep Guardiola has managed to maintain some good form despite losing some key figures over the past few weeks but the Spaniard will be pleased to see both Mario Gotze and Javi Martinez back in contention following rather long-term injuries.
Gotze is a contender to get back into the starting lineup after returning in the 3-1 win over Man City on Wednesday night meanwhile Martinez has started training again after suffering a groin injury several months ago.
However, Leverkusen will be confident of carrying on their strong form which has seen them climb to 3rd in the table and keep up with both Bayern and Borussia Dortmund in the early title race.
Leverkusen boss Sami Hyypia has only one potential injury concern with midfielder Gonzalo Castro a slight doubt with a niggling hamstring injury causing some problems.
With a full strength side to choose, Hyypia will be hoping that Lloyd Sam and Stefan Kiessling can add to their 18 goals between them and help overcome the defending champions.
In the other headline game in the Bundesliga, the two Borussia sides will do battle as Monchengladbach take on league leaders Dortmund on Saturday afternoon.
Dortmund are in imperious form so far this season and have remained unbeaten as Jurgen Klopp’s side look to regain the title that they lost last season.
Klopp will be back on the touchline after serving his European ban during the Champions League game against Marseille on Tuesday night and will likely field the same squad that has won all but one of their opening 7 games.
Monchengladbach will be a tough test though as Lucien Favre’s side have won all their home games so far this season and sit 7th in the table.
Favre’s side will also welcome back last season’s top scorer Max Kruse who has recovered from a shoulder injury and will be keen to add to his four goals that he has already scored this season.
Knowing that both Bayern and Dortmund have tough games this weekend, it could mean that we could see a new league leader come the end of the weekend.
