Bayern Munich Mainz Odds : Live Stream available from Allianz as Heynckes looks for Bundesliga response

Following their disappointing defeat to title rivals Borussia Dortmund during the week, Bayern Munich will be looking to bounce back against mid-table Mainz on Saturday evening, as Footybunker.com visitors can watch all the action exclusively live and online with Bet365. (see below).

Bayern went down 1-0 to Dortmund on Wednesday, meaning that they are now six points adrift of the league leaders and very much the outsiders for the title. There are still a few games to go though, so they need to make sure they return to winning ways straight away.

Jupp Heynckes’s men are of course relying on Dortmund losing a couple of games between now and the end of the season, but they need to be ready to pounce if this happens. This means winning all of their remaining Bundesliga games.

Bayern will certainly still consider themselves in good form despite the defeat to Dortmund. The frustrating reverse was the first time they had dropped points since the beginning of March.

Their home form is fantastic too – they have won their last eight league games on home soil – and this should stand them in good stead going into this weekend.

As for Mainz, they can afford to go into this tough test under very little pressure indeed. Not only are they the underdogs, but they also sit comfortably in mid-table going into this one.

With seven points separating them from the relegation zone, they have no worries about being dragged into anything messy at the bottom of the table. They arguably need one more win to ensure their top flight status, but nobody is expecting them to get it this weekend.

Looking at Mainz’s recent form, it is fair to say that they have been rather inconsistent. You never quite know what to expect. They have lost three of their last five games for example, but the other two games have been 3-0 and 4-0 victories.

The visitors can be encouraged by the fact that they defeated Bayern earlier in the season too. Back in November last year, they secured a famous 3-2 victory over the German giants and there is no doubt that Bayern will be after revenge.

This should be an entertaining contest and it gets underway at 5.30pm on Saturday evening.
