Sources have revealed that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have made an £8.5m bid for Chelsea centre-back Alex with a view to bring him to Bavaria this summer.
The partnership of Alex and captain John Terry was well regarded last term with Chelsea equal with Manchester City on goal difference conceding 33 goals. Although under Mourinho Chelsea conceded far less the defence is maybe something the side will want to sure up on.
The offer is currently on the table but no response will be made until a new manager arrives, thought to be Guus Hiddink within the next ten days. Although the Stamford Bridge club are making offers for certain players, it is said to be on the guidance of the current Turkey manager who will also decide on whether to accept Bayern’s offer or decline, keeping Terry and Alex together at the heart of their defence.
Bayern are looking to make their defence more solid after conceding a shocking 40 goals last season which saw them finish 3rd, it was only due to the German giants scoring 81 goals that actually kept them in range of the Champions League qualifying places. With an offer on the table it is believed that it shall remain there until a manager is in place to look over any possible Stamford Bridge exits.
