Birmingham City face the possibility of a mass player exodus after the club’s owner, Carson Yeung had his assets frozen due to money-laundering charges.
Some of the team’s bigger stars such as Ben Foster, Scott Dann, Cameron Jerome and Nikola Zigic may all be looking at possible departures with administration looming.
The Birmingham club outfit could face a 10-point deduction if they can’t afford to pay back their debts, and HSBC are already suspected of putting the Championship club under pressure.
Carson Yeung is due back in court in Hong Kong next month, but should the club lose too many of their big players, the club could enter a state of freefall. A danger that some believe is becoming too common a risk in English football.
