Birmingham City will not sell stars cheaply

Birmingham City chief executive Peter Pannu has warned other teams looking to poach stars from St Andrews that it will not be on the cheap and that interested parties will need to make substantial offers if they are serious.

Birmingham were relegated on Sunday resulting in lots of speculation regarding the futures of certain players within their squad – Ben Foster remains the main player that teams are on the trail of and at least five players, including Lee Bowyer and Sebastian Larsson are out of contract, however Pannu believes it is too early to discuss anything at the moment.

“If someone offers £3million for one of our top players, they will be told ‘forget it’, if someone offers £10million, £15million, then we are more likely to think about it, but nothing is cast in stone. It is too early really to talk about this sort of thing.”

Foster in particular is an apparent target of Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.
