Blackburn Rovers have emerged as possible suitors for wantaway Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic who has already suggested he would be moving on in January.
Although Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are currently favourites to land the 32 year old striker, Blackburn’s interest may turn the Croatian’s head towards the Premiership as he looks to finish his career with a further two or three years at a top level. Olic will also feature for his country at the European Championships in 2012 which Blackburn are aware of but his experience is something the former Hamburg striker can offer a club that are looking to break out of the bottom three.
A challenge could be something that Olic is looking for rather than simply plug away with Wolfsburg and although his signature is not something for the long term future of Blackburn he will get the 1995 Premiership Champions much needed goals in the second half of the season.
Olic has played in most countries apart from Italy, Spain and the UK and with the player recently claiming he only has a few years left, Blackburn Rovers could hold the key for his final few years as a footballer.
