Bolton Wanderers are considering a move for Leeds United striker Luciano Becchio whilst contract talks with current forward Johan Elmander remain unclear.
Elmander originally turned down a one year extension offered by Bolton suggesting he could me on his way out of the Reebok in the summer and Owen Coyle’s team appear to have set their sights on 27 year old Becchio.
The Leeds striker has been with the Yorkshire side since 2008 amassing an impressive 46 goals in almost 120 appearances and Bolton see Becchio as the ideal replacement should Elmander’s departure become reality.
Although Becchio is untested at the very top level no one can argue with his strike rate, and the player, should Leeds allow him to move, could be available to Bolton very reasonably.
