Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is already preparing for the loss of centre-back Gary Cahill during the summer with the player having attracted huge interest from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal.
Should Bolton and Cahill believe that this summer is the time for a change then Coyle will look to Robert Huth from Stoke City as the main replacement. Huth has been in very good form this season both defensively and in netting some important goals from set pieces, in fact Stoke City currently have one of the better defences in the Premier League conceding only 38 goals, only 8 more than current league leaders Manchester United.
If Bolton decide that they should now cash in for their star defender then Huth will be their main defensive target and for the Stoke defender, a chance to play for a top six position next season may be something too good to turn down.
With Owen Coyle’s side not struggling for goals and having scored one more than both Liverpool and Tottenham, plugging the gap left by a possible sale of Cahill will be their toughest task during the summer transfer window and Stoke may already have the answer for them.
