Bolton are set for talks with Manchester City winger, Shaun Wright-Phillips, after Owen Coyle was given permission to open negotiations.
The England international has grown out of favour at the Etihad Stadium, and Roberto Mancini is suspected to be willing to sell.
However, the Italian manager isn’t rushing into anything, with the Manchester City boss keen to hold on to Wright-Phillips until he can tie up a deal for Tottenham’s Aaron Lennon.
So far the speedster’s wages have been an obstacle in the transfer, with Bolton keeping a firm eye on their bank balance.
The Manchester City winger is currently on £60,000-a-week, and is keen on a move to Bolton so that he can stay close to his family, however the 29 year-old may have to take a pay cut for any move to go ahead.
