Bolton playmaker poised to make comeback

Bolton and United States international midfielder, Stuart Holden, is ready to make a return from injury and will feature in the Trotters’ Carling Cup tie against Aston Villa tonight.

The wideman suffered a broken leg six months ago against Manchester United, in which Jonny Evans mistimed an unfortunate tackle, leaving the American in need of 26 stitches on his knee.

Manager Owen Coyle said: “Stuart Holden will start, which is another boost, and we’ll see how far he’s progressed.”

Holden has been involved in the football community, doing punditry on Sky Sports during his recovery, and keeping fans up to date on his recovery via Twitter.
