Reports has emerged that Bolton are ready to make an offer for Leeds United’s star midfielder and team captain, Jonny Howson.
Howson is a fan favourite with The Whites, having come through the club’s academy since joining in 1997 as a fresh-faced nine year-old.
Since making his professional debut for the side in 2006, Howson has made over 170 appearances for the Elland Road side and is currently the longest serving member of the squad.
The 23 year-old captained the side for the first time in 2006 as a nineteen year-old, becoming the youngest player to do so since Billy Bremner. Known for his no-nonsense style of play, Howson has a habit of making a tackle and earning himself a card or two along the way, and has three yellows and a red to his name already this season.
That being said, the seasoned midfielder is as effective in attack as he is out of it and has earned a contract extension as a result of his exploits.
Yet to sign the offer, Bolton are keen to interrupt any deal and sign the playmaker themselves. However, the price-tag Leeds will ask for is generally unknown but will surely become more public in coming days.
