Bolton poised to make bid for Palace sensation

Following a series of promising appearances in the first half of the season, speculation continues to mount around the possible future of Wilfried Zaha, with Bolton Wanderers reportedly preparing a bid.

The 19 year-old has made 24 starts for Crystal Palace this campaign, scoring five goals and registering seven assists in the process.

In response, clubs as high in quality as Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked been linked with the starlet, who looks set to leave the London club this year.

Bolton may not offer the same prospects as other Premier League rivals being mentioned with a move for Zaha but if these alternative destinations fail to act on their interest, the allure of top flight football may prove too tempting for the youngster.

The Trotters have had a disappointing first half to the Premier League campaign and after losing Gary Cahill’s signature to Chelsea, Owen Coyle will be looking to make a star signing of his own this month.

Zaha carries a price-tag of around £5m which would be affordable after Cahill’s £7m departure despite the club’s acquisition of US defender Tim Ream.

Coyle confirmed his interest in signing the winger and is keen to add more names before the transfer window closes.

Speaking to SkySports, the Scot stated: “I think there’s players out there, and Zaha is certainly one of them, that I think would enhance our club for years to come on a permanent basis, and there are one or two on a loan capacity I’d love to bring in before the deadline on Tuesday.”
