Bolton stalwart ready to test United youngsters

Bolton Wanderers striker, Kevin Davies, has warned the batch of Manchester United youths not to expect an easy time when they travel to the Reebok Stadium on Saturday.

The 34 year-old is ready for a fight, noting: “We fancy anyone. We’ve got a decent record here, I think only a few teams turned us over last year.”

The Trotters have had a tough string of fixtures following the 4-0 victory in their season opener against QPR.

After losing to Manchester City and Liverpool in their second and third games, the forward is ready to get back to winning ways, adding: “This is an opportunity to get back on track but we know it’ll be difficult because United are bang in form and scoring goals, so we’ll make sure we’re right.”

Davies is especially ready for his battle against impressive 19 year-old, Phil Jones, and said: “I relish these kind of challenges, he’s coming on as a player and still young, so I’ll be trying to give him a going over.”
