Bolton Wanderers are looking to agree a permanent deal for their current Brazilian loanee Rodrigo Machado in the summer. The 20 year old is currently contracted to Benfica and has made 15 appearances for the first eleven so far netting just the one goal.
Whilst most of Machado’s appearances have come as a substitute Bolton manager Owen Coyle would like to seal a long term deal but there are complications.
Real Madrid for instance have an option to purchase the player back for around £12.5m should he impress however with a lack of goals in the Premiership, Real may not look to re-purchase the player and Benfica may look to make a small profit by selling him on immediately this summer.
Although Machado has not had the same devastating effect as Daniel Sturridge since his loan move, Bolton are looking to keep the Brazilian and wish to complete the same sort of deal when Spaniard Marcos Alonso signed a three year deal.
