Neymar is being heralded as the new Brazilian superstar to come out of the beaches of Rio, however the wonderkid has yet to live up to his billing. An indifferent start to his career in a Barcelona shirt saw him only bag nine goals in La Liga, far below his adversaries in Pedro (15) Alexis Sanchez (19) and Lionel Messi (28).
That said, Neymar will feel more than comfortable back in Brazil, and this may be just what the former Santos star requires. At 22 years old Neymar still has plenty of time to develop into the kind of product that only Brazil can produce.
At 12/1 to top the goalscoring charts Neymar could offer plenty of appeal, and there’s little doubt that if Brazil are to win the tournament on home soil then the Barca men must deliver.
