Brazilian club tracking Tevez

Corinthians are confident that Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez is moving closer to a return to the club, despite an offer yet to be made.
The Brazilian side were eager to sign Tevez in the summer transfer window, however even though the Argentine international demanded a move, a deal could not be completed.

Corinthians were interested in signing Tevez during the summer after he declared a desire to leave City, but a deal could not be finalised.
But, since then Tevez’s long-term future at the club has been put in more doubt, following manager Roberto Mancini’s allegation that he refused to come on as a sub against Bayern Munich, resulting in an internal investigation being carried out at City.

The case against Tevez was unable to be proven however the forward has still been fined four weeks’ wages by the club for improper conduct, whilst City are also ready to listen to offers when the January transfer window opens.

Even though City insist that they will not let the want-away player to move in a cut-price deal, Corinthians president Andres Sanchez believes there is more of chance of the player moving to Brazil.

And Sanchez has been quoted in the Brazilian media claiming his club’s bid to sign Tevez is back on at a reduced rate of around £16million.
Sanchez told reporters: “Although many people do not believe it, Tevez is much closer to the Corinthians than you can imagine.

“The initial offer was 40m euros and that is now 18m euros because of all the problems he has faced back in England.”
