Brendan Rodgers critical of Alexis Sanchez

Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers was left disgusted at the theatrics put on show by Alexis Sanchez during his team’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Anfield.

Martin Skrtel scored from a header in the 97th minute to help his side steer away from jaws of defeat after Olivier Girioud had given the away side a shock lead early on in the second half.

Arsenal could have won the game following the sending off of Fabio Borini for two offences, but the Reds held on and summoned enough will power to salvage a draw.

While talking to reporters after the game, Rodgers said that his team was brilliant throughout the game but was not happy with the first Arsenal goal that was scored by Mathieu Debuchy following a debatable free-kick.

Rodgers claimed that Sanchez dived when he realized that he was not going to get hold of the ball but also admitted that defensive lapses also led to the first goal being scored against his side.

“I didn’t think it was a free-kick. I think Sánchez dived when he realised he was not getting the ball.

But to lose three one- on-one headers in the box is not about organisation, it’s about winning duels and we have to be better than that.”
