Brendan Rodgers looking to make a few signings

The Liverpool manager has revealed that he could be in the market for a few players during the January transfer window in a bid to shake things up in the squad.

After having spent around 117 pounds on new signings this summer, Liverpool were expected to mount a strong assault for their first Premier League title. However, things haven’t really worked out the way Rodgers expected them to be with the Merseysiders struggling for goals and consistency.

Moreover, summer signings haven’t really been in great form which is why the manager is looking to bring in a couple of fresh faces to the club in a bid to turn things around.

While talking to reporters, Rodgers said that the club could possibly strengthen during the January transfer window but did not mention any particular names.

The likes of Petr Cech and Fernando Torres have been linked with the Reds in the past few days but Rodgers was rather coy about those names.

“If there is a possibility that we can strengthen in January, we will look at that,” Rodgers said.

“There will always be speculation, but I won’t comment on any players.”

And with the likes of Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert failing to fire, a new striker could be on the club’s wishlist.
