According to the reports, Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool would ‘love’ to sign Petr Cech, but he is more likely to join rivals Arsenal.
Cech, 32, has been long linked with a move away this season, with reports such as the Mirror claiming Arsenal will make a move for him. The Czech International joined Chelsea back in 2004 and has been an immense success at Stamford Bridge.
The 32-year-old during his 11 seasons at Chelsea has won three Premier League titles, one Champions League, one Europa League, four FA Cups, two League Cups.
However, following the rise of Thibaut Courtois, a player who manager Jose Mourinho decided to bring into the first-team thinking at Chelsea this season, Cech has been displaced as the number one goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge.
Last season, the 32-year-old played 34 times in the Premier League while this season, 21 games in, Cech has played three games.
Liverpool have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in the past few months, with the likes of Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto reportedly interesting he club, as reported by the in media While Argentina keeper Sergio Romero has also been linked.
Cech, to many Liverpool fans would be the ideal goalkeeper to replace Simon Mignolet, with the 32-year-old having so much experience and success during his career. However, as the Telegraph report, Liverpool accept the keeper is likely to join Arsene Wenger’s outfit.
