Bristol City are rumoured to be keen on Stoke City’s experienced midfielder Michael Tonge and are believed to be looking to bring the 28 year old to Ashton Gate within the next fortnight.
The loan deal, believed to be a two month offer would see Tonge return to Tony Pulis’ side when the transfer window reopens in January however sources suggest that should the loan go ahead, an option to extend in January will be included.
Tonge joined Stoke City in 2008 but has not been a regular feature of the side, having made on 12 league appearances in that time whilst being shipped out on loan to Preston North End twice and Derby County during that time.
With Stoke City currently having a squad that looks capable of a top ten finish, Pulis is likely to listen to any loan offers for the player and with Bristol City believed to be in pole for his temporary signature, may have a former U21 England international on their books by mid-November as they look to squeeze themselves out of the relegation zone in the Championship.
