Claudio Pizarro has put a host of Premier League teams on high alert after announcing that he isn’t sure where he will be plying his trade next season.
The 33 year-old has a contract with Werder Bremen that is set to run until the end of the 2012-13 campaign, however a clause reportedly exists in the document allowing Pizarro to leave the German outfit this summer on a free transfer should he decide to do so.
Despite his age, Pizarro has proven that he still has what it takes to cut it at the top level, boasting a record of 15 goals in 18 outings for Werder Bremen this season.
Speaking to the Bundesliga club’s official website, Pizarro stated: “The people of Bremen love their players, this is a special relationship. I am definitely not moving back to Peru, that is a certainty.”
He added: “All I am able to confess is that I like the great family atmosphere that is around the club.”
Pizarro has previously played in England when he completed a 2007 move to Chelsea, also on a free transfer.
The Peruvian international stayed at Stamford Bridge for just one unsuccessful season however and in 2008, Pizarro switched back to Germany for his second spell with Werder Bremen.
Although he claims that he is enjoying life at the Weserstadion, the striker has opened up to a Premier League move in the past and may do so again with Arsenal, Sunderland and Tottenham all said to be keen on the hitman if he were available on a free.
