After Chris Iwelumo’s departure to Watford, Burnley manager Eddie Howe has said that he wants to sign at least one more striker before the transfer window closes.
When speaking to BBC Radio Lancashire, Howe stated: “We are looking to replace Chris. I think you need four good strikers or possibly five. We are looking to strengthen.”
The club’s current senior strikers are Jay Rodriguez, Martin Paterson and Charlie Austin.
The 33 year-old added: “Whether it’s a direct replacement for Chris we will have to wait and see. We might need a slightly more physical presence because the strikers we have can all play with a target man.”
Howe is looking forward to his first full season in charge at Burnley.
