Reports from Scotland are suggesting that Celtic will take a chance on a bid for Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov in the summer transfer window.
It seems that Celtic boss Neil Lennon is prepared to test United for the Bulgarian who despite being the clubs current top scorer has failed to make the first team recently despite a squad rotation policy and the 30 year old may not be part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s future plans with bids apparently being prepared for Sergio Agüero and possibly Douglas Costa.
How much Celtic will be prepared to pay Manchester United for the player that cost them a speculated £30.75m is also a big question and with the money reigns rumoured to be tight under the Glazer ownership the Old Trafford club may not allow their main goal getter to leave for less than £20m, a figure that Celtic will surely not be able to muster up for just the one player.
Should Berbatov fail to make the next few matches for Manchester United then he may feel a new challenge next season would be a good idea and there is no question that a player of his talent at Celtic will almost guarantee him plenty of goals and new trophies.
