Reports have suggested that Manchester City misfit, Craig Bellamy, could be loaned out to Celtic in an effort to find more first-team football.
Bellamy was a part of Cardiff City’s playoff semi-final team last season, and had a loan spell at Celtic in 2005.
When speaking to BBC Sport, Celtic boss Neil Lennon confirmed the rumours and commented: “There have been conversations between both clubs.”
Celtic and Manchester City both played in the Dublin Super Cup over the weekend, where Lennon insists he didn’t make contact with the English club.
“Hopefully there will be more to report at the end of the week,” the manager added.
Manchester City boss, Roberto Mancini, agrees with the proposed move and also spoke to BBC Sport, stating: “If Celtic want Craig… he can go. Craig is a good striker and he can play at Celtic, because they’re an important team.”
The Welsh international currently has one year left on his contract, and has been rumoured to be interested in a move back to hometown club, Cardiff, also.
