This trio will of course be joined by the runner-up, losing semi-finalists and those finishing in 5th and 6th from Group 7. All of this to join the winners group which already contains six players ready to go for the title.
It is on Thursday that these matches take place too. Leading the way in this group is reigning Champion Phil Taylor. He has won this tournament in two of the last four years and he will want to complete a third win this week.
He faces tough competition though. Simon Whitlock was in stunning form last week, while Dave Chisnall is always a threat. You then have Wes Newton, Justin Pipe and Ronnie Baxtor looking to use the format of the Champions League to their advantage.
The winners group will then contain two more players from Group 8, ensuring that Thursday evening should be extremely competitive.
For the final time in the 2012 Championship League, let’s play darts!
