Blackpool host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday evening in what looks to be a cracking game. Wolves are really struggling at the moment and sit in eighteenth place, so really need a win, whereas Blackpool can move to within two points of the top six if they take the spoils.
Its now eight games unbeaten for the Tangerines as manager Michael Appleton looks to keep hold of his prized asset, Tom Ince, as Liverpool look to make a move for the attacking midfielder, while things have not exactly gone according to plan for Ståle Solbakken at Wolves.
With only two wins in twelve the Molineaux faithful are becoming restless as the side are in freefall, with a relegation fight on the horizon.
It would take only the most optimistic of fan to back the away side as all the money has come in for the Blackpool home win, with the 11/10 taking plenty of money.
Also on Friday, Hull City entertain Derby County and after three straight wins, the away side look all the value at 6/4. The tigers can also move joint top with a victory as Steve Bruce looks to once again have a promotion winning side on his hands.
Moving onto Saturday, top of the table Cardiff City travel to Leicester City in what is one of the pick of the fixtures this weekend. Leicester currently sit in the top six and with both sides losing last time out – they need a response here.
Malky Mackay’s side suffered a shocking home defeat to bottom club Peterborough United last week, as Nigel Pearson will want to get his Foxes side back on track.
The 11/10 on the home side looks about right.
Leeds United and Middlesbrough also lock horns and Neil Warnock will be hoping his men are not too fatigued after their game against Chelsea on Wednesday. The Lilywhites took something of a battering but should be able to include Alan Tate, who was cup-tied for the midweek game.
The 13/8 looks a little too big to ignore for the home win, with Leeds winning their last three at Elland Road.
Elsewhere, Ipswich Town meet Bristol City in a crunch match between two sides hovering just above the bottom three, whilst bottom of the table Peterborough United take on Bolton Wanderers.
Birmingham City and Burnley are both struggling for form at the moment and they meet at St Andrews on Saturday as Brighton & Hove Albion travel to Blackburn Rovers.
Watford v Nottingham Forest is a battle between two teams just outside the top six right now, so this is sure to be a competitive encounter. The winner could even move into a play-off spot.
Millwall are in sixth and they take on struggling Barnsley, whilst Sheffield Wednesday are at home to Charlton Athletic.
There is then one game taking place on Saturday evening and it sees Huddersfield Town lock horns with Crystal Palace. Palace will be after the points to remain in the top two, whereas Huddersfield have not won in six, so need to take something here.
It should be a cracking weekend of Championship action.
