On Friday evening, league-leaders Cardiff City will be looking to move four points clear of second place with a victory over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
It will be a competitive 90 minutes and with Blackburn needing a win to move closer to the top six – both teams have plenty to play for.
On Saturday, the early kick-off sees Derby County host Leeds United and despite there being five places between these two, Derby know they can overhaul their opponents in eleventh with a win.
Leeds have won three on the bounce though, so will be coming here full of confidence as Neil Warnock seems to have finally got the best out of Luciano Becchio, who has four goals in his last three. Nigel Clough’s Rams are stuttering with only one win in five and look a little short of confidence.
The momentum is definitely with the Lilywhites at the moment and look well worthy of a bet at 11/5.
Moving onto the 3PM games, Crystal Place will be looking to move closer, or even move onto top spot when they take on Blackpool at Selhurst Park, as Ian Holloway meets his former club. The Eagles are on fire at home, having won four on the bounce and have not conceded a goal. The evens on the home win therefore looks a steal.
Middlesbrough have slipped down to fourth after three defeats in their last four and they head to Peterborough United this weekend knowing they must return to form.
The Posh are fighting for their lives at the bottom and haven’t won in seven, as Tony Mowbray looks to bounce back following their loss to Birmingham last week, and the 11/10 on offer for the away win is another great bet to get involved with.
Elsewhere, Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City lock horns and with both sides currently sitting in the bottom three, this is real six-pointer.
Charlton Athletic will be looking to continue their unbeaten run when they host Brighton & Hove Albion, whilst Burnley travel to Nottingham Forest.
Watford and Hull City are both in the top six right now and they meet at Vicarage Road on Saturday in what is one of the pick of Saturday’s fixtures.
Leicester City and Nigel Pearson will be hoping for a comfortable home win when they take on Barnsley and Millwall travel to Ipswich Town full of confidence.
Bolton Wanderers make the journey to Huddersfield Town and with both sides struggling for form at the moment, this is a big game for both Simon Grayson and Dougie Freedman.
The evening kick-off is a Midlands derby as Wolverhampton Wanderers and Birmingham City go head-to-head. Neither are having a great season and currently sit in 17th and 19th respectively, so a win here could finally kick-start their campaigns.
It should be another superb weekend of action in the second tier of English football.
